Our largest UK site in Harrogate is currently recruiting for a Scientific Equipment Technician to join the Facilities and Maintenance department. This is a full-time permanent position.

The primary role of the Scientific Equipment Technician is to ensure that all analytical and study related equipment in the Harrogate, Leeds and York sites is metrologised, calibrated, maintained by established timelines and in compliance with SOP's and regulatory guidelines.

About You:
  • Possess English, Maths and Science at GCSE level or equivalent. If you do possess qualifications in engineering or electrical, this is advantageous.
  • Experience with electrical equipment would be beneficial
  • Experience in a similar role or engineer based role would be preferred
  • Experience within a laboratory setting would be beneficial
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Track record for identifying issues and resolving them
  • Be an excellent team player
  • Good IT skills with MS Office. Experience with TMS is advantageous

Education/Qualifications:
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
Experience:
  • Experience of working within a scientific laboratory and regulated environment would be preferable
  • Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills
  • Computing skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office packages and Microsoft Project)
  • An understandingof health and safety policies, company policies and procedures, a working knowledge of ISO (accreditation and application) and an understanding of GMP/GLP/GCP regulations
  • The post holder should be able to communicate effectively at all levels, with other employees, as well as external clients, suppliers, etc.
