Associate Director, Health Economic Modelling

Are you an experienced Health Economic Modeller with a strong track record of leading the development of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) compliant health economic models, and are looking for an opportunity to influence the future success and direction of our business? This is a senior, permanent, full-time position, within the Value Demonstration team at Covance Market Access (CMA) Consulting. CMA Consulting offers its clients an integrated portfolio of research, analytical and presentational services, all sharply focused on communicating product value to healthcare payers and the partners who influence them.

You will take part in leading, crafting and grow ing our Global Health Economic Modelling consultancy offerings. You will be collaborating closely with other members of the senior management team and with our consulting colleagues and business development directors globally. You will be expected to actively engage in business development, expand and strengthen our consulting services, lead and provide strategic input into project execution, while also mentoring junior team members.

About the Job
  • Collaborating closely with the leadership teams both within the Value Demonstration and wider consultancy groups, your specific area of focus will be to provide expertise and guidance to Health Economic Modelling engagements.
  • Contributing to the growth, profitability and development of services, through active participation in business development and thought leadership efforts.
  • Providing strategic direction to projects, suggesting creative bespoke solutions to address client needs.
  • Actively engaging in business development activities by enthusiastically pursuing collaboration with our consulting colleagues and business development directors globally, seeking new business opportunities with clients, and participating in capability presentations, proposal development and bid defences.
  • Provide senior support to project teams and mentor consultants to further develop their skills.
  • Acting as a go-to expert for queries related to Health Economic Modelling techniques, approaches and latest developments, and how these apply to HTA and other types of payer communications. #LI-NC1
Education/Qualifications:
About You
  • You will need to hold a good undergraduate degree from a reputable university, with post-graduate qualification such as MSc/MRes or PhD strongly preferred. Your area of study will typically be in a health economic, public health, public policy, statistics, life/clinical science, health services research, or other relevant quantitative discipline.
Experience:
  • You will have significant prior Health Economic Modelling consulting experience, with additional experience from the pharmaceutical/medical device industry/HTA agencies a bonus.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of health economics and its application (including experience in developing a wide range of models and advanced modelling techniques), evidence generation, and HTA.
  • Be able to communicate complex Health Economic Modelling techniques and outputs to a wide range of stakeholders including both Health Economists and non-Expert audiences.
  • Have a broad understating of related disciplines within HEOR and market access.
  • Demonstrate that you have consistently delivered successful projects, generated new business and maintained client relationships.
  • Be an effective and stimulating project leader, able to provide both strategic and methodological leadership, as well as motivate and develop junior team members.
  • Have demonstrated proficiency in various software programs, including MS Excel (and VBA), and other MS Office suite of programs, along with experience of programming and software such as STATA, R and other related programs applicable to the development of gold-standard HTA-compliant economic models.
  • Have excellent interpersonal, communication, project management and organisational skills, including excellent written English; other language skills are advantageous.
