We are actively seeking an Analytical Development Senior Scientist, to work within their new state of the art laboratory with ground breaking technology in an innovative environment.

Role summary:

As the Senior Scientist in their Viral Vector Analytical Development team, you will take a lead role ensuring the company meet their ambitions and deliver these life changing therapies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, optimisation, and validation of analytical methods for the testing of quality attributes and characterisation of novel viral vectors.
  • Design and execute experimental programmes for the development and optimisation of analytical assays to ensure the products are of the right quality and potency.
  • Continue to seek to implement the latest methods, technology scouting or implementation of new technology so activities are at the cutting edge.
  • Ensure methods are ready through the implementation of pre-qualification protocols
  • Mentor and supervise more junior members of the team.
  • Key contributor to the transfer and validation of methods to cGMP environments.
  • Work in close collaboration with the R&D, Cell Line Development, DSP, Manufacturing Development and Quality Groups as a responsible member of the USP team.

Role requirements:

To be considered for the Senior Analytical Development Scientist you will have;

  • PhD with 3+ relevant industrial laboratory experience in analysis of viral vector products, or BSc/MSc with 7+ years direct industrial laboratory experience as above.
  • Experience in analytical development within a regulated environment.
  • Experience in the development, use and transfer of methods such as UV, CE and UHPLC2
  • Expertise in the development of cell based assays such as potency.
