The Company

Our client, a global Medical Communications Agency are seeking a Medical Writer to join their expanding team based in the UK. With a fluid structure this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career within the Medical Communications industry.

The Position

As the new Medical Writer, you will be expected to develop written materials that are of high quality, scientifically accurate, clear, fully referenced and appropriate to the target audience. You will also produce meeting materials (e.g. slides, agendas, discussions guides), post-meeting activities (e.g. webcasts, reports), as well as attending meetings, workshops and advisory boards.

As part of the remit you will also:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and key experts.
  • Develop a range of materials (educational symposia, market access materials, medical information) and other promotional activities.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge in relevant therapy areas including drug mechanisms of action, disease state, treatment guidelines and competitive landscape.
  • Identify and anticipate any problems or resource limitations that could jeopardise the delivery of your projects on-time, on-budget or with sufficient quality.

The Person

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in Life Sciences or equivalent in a scientific discipline. You will work under pressure, independently and as part of a team, and deliver high-quality work as well as demonstrate the ability to interact appropriately with key experts, negotiate on content and make constructive suggestions.

As a Medical Writer, you will also possess the following characteristics:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interpret and fulfil client briefs in a creative and technically accurate manner.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Able to seek out, critically appraise and appropriately cite published information.
