About AstraZeneca

AstraZeneca is a global, innovation-driven BioPharmaceutical business that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialisation of prescription medicines for some of the world's most serious disease. But we're more than one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies.

Our BioPharmaceuticals pipeline is growing. And it takes something special to get that out to patients, responding to their evolving needs, as well as those of healthcare professionals and partners. It's end to end - from shaping the future of the pipeline through to patient support. We help each patient to navigate their unique journey.

Our UK Marketing Company (UKMC) is responsible for the marketing of our medicines in the UK. Here you'll also find colleagues from AstraZeneca's corporate functions and our European and International regions' sales and marketing teams. As a member of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), all of our sales, marketing and communications activities are subject to the ABPI Code of Practice.

It has been agreed that the UKMC head office will move from Luton to Pancras Square, London in early 2022. This role will be initially based in our Luton office, until this move takes place.

Our move to Pancras Square offers us the strongest possible platform to transform the lives of patients in the UK, as the country's leading biopharmaceutical company. The move will bring the UK Marketing Company closer to customers, partners and stakeholders in the UK's healthcare environment, as well as foster greater collaboration with the wider AZUK footprint.

What you'll do:

  • Grow an in-depth understanding of AZ disease areas and the self-regulatory framework the pharmaceutical industry works within

  • Review and approve in a timely manner agreed materials and activities within area(s) of defined brand or medical accountability, as defined by local SOPs

  • Stay up to date with ABPI Code of Practice and share best practice with brand and medical teams of defined therapy area

  • Support delivery of the Medical and Scientific Affairs strategy

  • Signatory activities and maintenance of high standards and compliance

  • Ensure compliance of all AZ Governance Framework and ABPI Code of Practice

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry as a Medical Signatory

  • Previous experience working in a compliance, safety, quality, regulatory, health economics environment or medical information within the NHS or pharmaceutical industry

  • Evidence of effective team working accountability and time management

  • Patient and customer insight through experience in the NHS or pharmaceutical industry

  • Inquisitive and entrepreneurial mindset

  • Problem solving skills and the ability to think strategically

  • Expertise in at least one of the disease/therapy areas of AstraZeneca

  • An understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice

  • An understanding of commercialisation processes/marketing activities and needs surrounding the effective promotion of drug products
