Due to a promotion, we are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer looking for their next step in their professional development to join Roche Diagnostics, the world's leading health supplier in Diagnostics equipment. We are passionate about transforming patients' lives and at Roche, we focus on developing innovative medicines and diagnostic tests that help patients live longer, better lives.

We invite applications from field service engineers with experience in fault diagnosis and repair of electro-mechanical/fluidic/electronics systems, or from someone with the right skills and attitude wanting to move into a field service position. Ideally, you will have started your career troubleshooting at component level and have progressively built up your expertise to systems-level in any of these industries (biomedical engineering, industrial engineering, automation, aerospace but to name a few).

This exciting position sits within the Technical Services group whose mission is to provide technical support for varied electrical/mechanical medical equipment.  With exciting plans for future equipment launches in the pipeline and strong R&D investment in the product portfolio, you will be coming into the Technical support team at an opportune time to support significant growth within key business accounts across your territory and the UK.

As part of the UK Engineering Support team, you will report to a regional Technical Regional Manager and provide preventative, corrective, modification, installation & out of hours support to customers on specified products ranging from large to medium-sized equipment. You will monitor and act appropriately upon key metrics to provide an effective and efficient service in key NHS/University laboratories and private service providers. You will provide on-site and office-based customer training.

We would welcome applicants between the Guildford & Basingstoke area. You will on occasions be expected to travel throughout the UK.

Your profile

You are an ambitious and motivated, qualified engineer - with good previous service experience of working with high-value capital equipment.  You will be qualified to an HNC/HND level or above in electronics. A relevant science subject would also be desirable.

You will possess a confident working approach. Customer-focused, you will be capable of representing the company in a positive manner at client sites that enhance the reputation and professionalism of Roche Diagnostics Limited.  You will excel in building productive customer relationships in a complex matrix environment.

Roche is a company that not only invests in its business - over £6.5 billion in R&D worldwide, including £460 million in the UK alone last year - but equally importantly in its people.

What this means for you is not only a competitive salary and benefits package, but also a recognised product training programme and continuous support to build on your knowledge, skills and potential, helping you prepare for the exciting opportunities for further career development.

All of which has ranked Roche number 4 in the Sunday Times 25 Best Big Companies to Work For this year.
