A specialist healthcare event management and engagement agency is seeking a Business Development Director to plan and execute their new business strategy and be based out of their offices in Surrey.

From their offices in the UK and US, they have over 80 people delivering virtual, hybrid and live events supported by strategy, content and innovative in-house production. They help to solve complex brand, communication and engagement challenges for some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations. Through understanding and creative expression, they connect with the audience with personality and a smile to create powerful engagement programmes. Responsibilities:
  • Identify and generate leads of new prospects in healthcare/pharma/life sciences with a focus on Global, EMEA and UK clients
  • Take accountability for all new healthcare pitches working across the business and teams to ensure the best possible pitch or proposal submission within time frames specified
  • Work with the management team to tune and enhance the sales plan
  • Work with lead generation to maximise lead generation activities and opportunities that arise from it
  • Work closely with client services to facilitate a smooth onboarding of all new clients and projects
  • To deliver against annual financial and strategic business development targets
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Significant previous new business development experience gained within a medical communications environment is a must
  • Able to identify opportunities and devise solutions that exceed client expectations
  • Well networked within pharmaceutical and healthcare organisations
  • Demonstrable track record of selling medical communications solutions especially around events, meetings, and online training
  • Excellent understanding of technology and how it can be innovatively deployed in both live and digital environments
  • Candidates need to live and be eligible for work in the UK, with some international travel expected both to both clients and the US office
 
To be considered for this role you must live in the UK and have previous medical communications experience with an agency.
