A client of mine are currently seeking a Product Development Manager to join their market leading company who design and manufacture medical devices into the care industry. Managing and taking leadership over all new products through their life cycle from concept/design, regulatory and quality approvals and finally into commercialisation.

Working in a small cross functional team it is vital that the successful candidate can work on multiple projects simultaneously and must be a clear communicator. An in-depth knowledge of the medical device industry is paramount, and it is essential they understand regulations that align themselves to this type of product i.e ISO 13485

Responsibilities include:
Gather design briefs and define project outcomes
Oversee and manage design of products ensure designs meet brief given
Engage and facilitate external vendors needed for project success
Take ownership of project budget and resources
Develop test methods to ensure products performance and reliability
Prepare and provide documentation for regulatory requirements adhering to ISO 13485
Work alongside Quality department to ensure compliance

Degree in mechanical engineering or extensive experience in a similar role
Experience of taking a medical device from concept to commercialisation (including aiding in regulatory submissions)
Experience working with ISO 13485
