Civil Engineer (Pharmaceutical Industry)

The Subject Matter Expert will be responsible for the technical aspects of the project ensuring that the technical solution meets the business objectives and requirements incorporating good engineering practice and compliance with company standards and guidelines.

They will engage with the Design Lead, Project Manager and/or Commissioning Manager to provide input as required in their area of expertise and can be sourced internally or externally to suit the needs of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• To ensure that their services are properly considered and included in project technical and engineering planning along with cost estimates and schedules.
• To provide the necessary level of expertise to support the engineering and technical justification of the project through its lifecycle.
• To act as the Technical Authority for their area of expertise
• To review and approve technical and engineering deliverables within their area of expertise
• To provide expert opinion on technical and engineering issues arising during project development and execution
• To participate in Design Verification and Project reviews as required
• To participate in Process Safety reviews as required
• To input to the development of the Business Case as required.
• To input expertise to the Front End stages as required for options development and Concept Selection.
• To input expertise to the implementation stages of the project as required.
• To act as the technical authority on the project for their area of expertise.
• To liaise with other SMEs, project, corporate and site engineering and technical functions as required
• To deliver expert opinion and services in line with project requirements and timing.

Experience/Background:

• Engineer in civil construction and finishing
• 30% Civil: already existing
• 70% Finishing: partitions of rooms, labs, all finisher activities.
• Relevant Engineering qualifications required
