The Access Insights & Forecasting Franchise Lead is an Associate Director-level role and is a highly visible team member in the US Business Insights & Analytics (I&A) organization. The Access Insights and Forecasting team enables US market access insights for payers, managed markets and national accounts along with managing the forecasting process for late stage and in-line assets. This role proactively advises on market access performance, leads the development and refinement of best-in-class forecasting, and enables Brand Insight leads to communicate the long-term outlook and vision this pharmaceutical companie’s assets. 


Role

  • Lead qualitative and quantitative market access analysis, share insights, and provide robust recommendations to PVA and the Integrated Franchise Teams 
  • Leverage strong analytical capabilities and experience in analyzing complex situations to develop analysis from multiple sources and synthesize into clear and concise information that is responsive to business needs
  • Lead identification, maintenance, and generation of data references/databases for continuously improving market access and forecasting capabilities

Market Access

  • Drive strong payer and managed market discipline through competitive market access landscape, analogue assessments, and key market access assumptions for in-line and early assets to inform contracting and forecasting
  • Collaborate with PVA to ensure that the appropriate insights and analytics perspective with regards to market access dynamics are factored into PVA strategies and tactics
  • Drive the development of market access models, leveraging complete understanding of different market access approaches for value-based market access and contract negotiations in the US market
  • Lead the development of a robust market access analytics platform and reporting system to effectively execute on deal/no-deal contract modeling, reference market access impact analysis, and business case evaluations

Forecasting

  • Implement best-in-class forecast modeling approaches
  • Work with supplier partners and foster strong partnerships in the context of resources, timing, and overall goals
  • Effectively explain modeling assumptions to key stakeholders, including senior leadership, and triangulate assumptions with other data and forecasting models to pressure test them and develop what-if scenarios
  • Integrate forecasting efforts & insights with primary research, competitive intelligence, and analytics insights co-developed with peers across the I&A integrated franchise team
  • Provide context and forecasting leadership to cross-functional partners (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain) to ensure the potential impact of commercial strategies are well understood and planned

Requirements:

Education:

  • BA/BS degree
  • Advanced degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in forecasting, market research, or business analytics in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with advanced spreadsheets, patient-based forecast and contract modeling including dynamic patient models
  • Experience in oncology, hematology or similar specialty areas and related EDI and Claims datasets
  • Experience with quantitative techniques including smoothing, regression, time series analyses, and simulation
  • Experience with data analysis and data visualization tools.
  • Product launch experience
  • Consulting experience with forecasting, market research or business analysis firm(s)

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Broad working knowledge of commonly used biopharmaceutical industry databases
  • Working knowledge of global access and reimbursement policies, and competitive environment and potential impact on product development and commercialization strategy
  • Ability to explain complex concepts to stakeholders in simple language and lead/drive consensus building
