Technical Specialist – Wet Chemistry – Pharmaceutical

SRG is supporting a specialist Pharmaceutical CRO organisation to identify a subject matter expert in Wet Chemistry to act as a project leader and hands-on expert across multiple bench based techniques. This role will involve working directly with customers for their testing needs and is for an experienced Chemist who is looking to take their career to the next stage.


  • Provide expert technical and scientific direction for a range of chemistry projects, ensuring the projects are delivered within the agreed timeframes and standards
  • Supporting projects at the bench in chromatography, titrations, colorimetry and other relevant techniques in accordance with pharmacopoeia (or client methods)
  • Training, mentoring, and coaching of other technical employees
  • Method development and validation of a range of wet chemistry techniques
  • Influencing and educating stakeholders regarding technical plans and risks
  • Networking and attending relevant conferences
  • Identifying technical areas of improvement and being aware of latest relevant best practices and bringing these into the business

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Bachelors (or higher degree) in a relevant Chemistry/Pharmaceutical degree
  • Extensive relevant laboratory experience to GMP standards (ideally Pharma)
  • Exceptional method development and validation skills across a range of chemistry techniques
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and communication skills
  • Project leadership experience
  • Previous experience of a client facing role is desirable
