Chief Medical Officer

I’m working with an exciting clinical stage biotech company who are seeking to welcome an experienced and motivated oncology focused physician as a Chief Medical Officer (CMO). They will be responsible for strategic development and tactical implementation of the clinical studies for the research programs.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Core decision making- refining indications and defining unmet needs
• Liaising with external organisations to define their priorities
• Develop service plans and resources to achieve the objectives of the Drug Development.
• Be up-to-date with pre-clinical and clinical guidelines that affect the drug development pipeline
• Review incidents associated with regulatory issues the Drug Development
• Represent the company in different fields, including meetings with potential investors
• Optimise productivity and motivate staff
• Lead and implement the clinical direction of the organisation in coordination with medical and scientific advisors
• Lead the clinical operations of the company.

Requirements

• Medical doctor (M.D, MBBS, MBChB or equivalent)
• Oncologist
• Broad oncology experience within both larger pharma and smaller biotechs
• Minimum of 10 years clinical development experience
• In depth knowledge of FDA and EMA guidelines
• Previous experience in the design of clinical trials
• In depth knowledge of the industry and key/current topics within oncology
• Knowledge and understanding of the applicable regulatory requirements
• Experience of the drug development process across a range of different cancers
• Fluent English- Excellent communication skills
