Product Specialist - Ophthalmology - South Central

Our client is a unique, global pharmaceutical company who is focused on developing, manufacturing, and commercializing innovative branded pharmaceuticals and biologic products for patients around the world. They market a portfolio of best-in-class products that provide valuable treatments for the central nervous system, eye care, medical aesthetics, gastroenterology, women's health, urology, cardiovascular and anti-infective therapeutic categories, providing patients around the globe with increased access to affordable, high-quality medicines.

They are looking for an experienced Product Specialist to join their Ophthalmology team.

The role will require exceptional territory management and business planning abilities to ensure that the products are promoted to maximum effect.

The Product Specialist is responsible for project managing and co-ordinating the resources at his/her disposal to communicate the benefits of their portfolio of products to the necessary stakeholders. You will gain credibility with your customers by supporting business case development, treatment protocol development, capacity management and patient referral protocols.

A successful key account approach is necessary to achieve objectives including sales targets.

The ability to generate partnership relations and be regarded as a peer by key customers is also essential.

A comprehensive understanding of the evolving NHS environment is essential to carry out the role effectively.

Your suitability for the role will be defined by:

  • Relevant experience in pharmaceutical hospital selling, or a strong track record of performance in GP / Hospital pharmaceutical sales
  • Strategic sales, business and account planning including stakeholder mapping, needs assessment, patient pathway and value-based selling
  • Attitudes and behaviours that demonstrate: an optimistic outlook, an openness to change, a growth mindset, a positive outlook, and a high degree of awareness
  • Ability to understand clinical and scientific aspects of Ophthalmology
