Senior Scientist – Translational

My client is a leading T-Cell Therapy provider in the UK who is seeking to expand our Translational and product knowledge team by recruiting a Senior Scientist with a background in human Treg immunology. Senior Scientist will be instrumental in characterizing the CAR Treg product, studying the immune landscape patients from new targeted diseases or applications and help preparing and qualifying all the experiments and processes for the clinical trial of the product. The successful candidate will have a passion for driving high-impact projects focused on the development of novel immune-therapeutics. The successful candidate will effectively and routinely collaborate with colleagues on different projects and regularly present scientific results to multidisciplinary teams and leadership.



  • Manage, mentor, and train a group of Research Associates and Scientists
  • Characterize clinical cell therapy products from the Quell therapeutics platform and patients samples
  • Manage and implement various projects collaborating with other departments
  • Manage and support external collaborations as a subject matter expert in immunology
  • Contribute to the external scientific visibility of the company through collaboration with industry partners


  • Extensive experience in T-Cell/ T-Reg and optimising of immunoassays
  • Characterization of immune cell populations using flow cytometry and molecular biology tools
  • Work independently or collaboratively as part of a team; manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrate the ability to critically analyse and present data
  • Contribute to a culture that embraces scientific excellence, integrity, urgency, patient centricity, and continuous improvement
  • Previous people supervisory or management experience
  • Post doc/ Post PhD industry experience



  • PhD in Immunology or related subject
  • At least 5 years direct industry experience in Treg-cell biology or equivalent experience
  • Deep knowledge of principles of Treg immunology and broad knowledge of current concepts in CAR technology
  • Management experience
  • Expertise in the culture of primary human cells and methods such as multi-colour flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISpot, TCR and RNA single cell sequencing
  • Experience in immune monitoring of clinical trials and biomarker discovery
