About You

We are currently looking for an intern dedicated to Projects and Operations to join our Corporate Strategy team, based at our global headquarters in Zurich. In conjunction with the Operations Lead, your responsibility will be to ensure project deliverables / milestones are met according to plan by focusing on operational excellence.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Drive assigned Corporate Strategy projects to a successful conclusion
  • Ensure operational excellence on project schedule and quality
  • Track activities and deliverables against agreed plans, identify and resolve issues (escalating where needed)
  • Maintain an excellent project overview and keep Operations Lead Corporate Strategy informed on the current state
  • Report project status to respective project team members in a timely manner
  • Getting practical experience in support of professional education (i.e. Master Thesis)

The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience and knowledge, or the equivalent.

Minimum Requirements

  • Educational background in business and/or science (university degree or equivalent)
  • 1+ years of professional experience with proven track-record
  • Demonstrated ability to work without routine supervision to deliver key results
  • Ability to manage and motivate team members without hierarchical leadership
  • Successful cross-functional and intercultural working; team player
  • Proven coordination and communication skills
  • Ability to convince team members and resolve conflicts
  • Professional level in English, in both oral and written communications
  • IT: Microsoft Office package (MS Project is a requirement)

Preferred Requirements

  • 1+ years of internationally-oriented project management experience in the pharmaceutical industry, either in Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Management and/or Commercial
  • Additional languages: German
  • Exhibit self-motivation and independence to perform to the highest level of excellence
  • Systematic working skills, often under time pressure or in a changing environment
  • Able to complete tasks to deadlines and prioritize conflicting demands
  • Entrepreneurial thinking balanced with team-orientation; can motivate team members and avoid/resolve conflicts by being empathic
  • Ability to foster good internal relationships based on trust and respect
  • Able to work interdisciplinary and cross-functionally within a matrix organizational structure
  • Applies best practices and lessons learned to further improve internal processes
  • Highly-engaged, proactive, and result- and solution-oriented
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, intercultural, organizational, planning, and writing skills
  • Good negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Can effectively use IT tools
  • Adept moderator and facilitator
