Job Description

The HR Advisor / Manager is a generalist hands-on role, supporting the day to day (including administrative) employee life cycle for the ANZ Affiliate employees. 

Being accountable for supporting overall hiring growth, on-boarding and day to day HR matters, this person will collaborate and leverage the global Centres of Excellence accordingly with the review, implementation and execution of programs in the areas of talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, operations and/or learning and development.  

The role reports into the Head of HR, ANZ, and will also be supporting the business with the local ANZ objectives and the overall business goals includes but not limited to initiatives that drive the desired local culture of a highly performing and engaged workforce. 

1. HR Operations - Operational Excellence 
  • Drive employee life cycle operation excellence (on-boarding, off-boarding, workforce management, system updates and reporting; benefits and payroll) 
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and management of all employee documentation including but not limited to worker compensation claims, ergonomic assessments, flexible work arrangements, new hire on-boarding documentation, contracts of employment and addendums.  
  • Ensure accuracy of data in the HR system (WorkDay) and monthly payroll data checks  
  • Review, approve offers and generate contracts of employment and on-boarding packs for new starters 
  • Attend to all HR administrative tasks and items for ANZ 
  • Regular and ad hoc reporting requests and preparation of ad hoc/regular local content 
  • Manage time sheet record keeping of award covered employees 
  • Review and amend local HR policies as required 
2. HR Management
  • As a trusted local HR representative, being available to ANZ employees to manage confidential issues guided by the thorough understanding of the local legal frameworks 
  • Support, guide and advise managers and teams on all HR-related topics including hiring, employee development, benefits etc 
  • Promote and be an advocate of the Culture, fostering and promoting the Biogen values 
  • Responsible for Candidate and Employee Experience and coordination of the New Employees Orientation Program to provide best possible introduction to Company information, policies, procedures and guidelines as well as Company culture on both local and international level. 
  • Support talent management and compensation processes. Monitoring of Onboarding experience, Performance Evaluation, Compensation Process (Salary increases, Bonus payout and LTI), Calibration, Goal Setting, Talent Review and People Surveys. 
  • Work closely with the global HR centres of excellence and support them as required
3. Project Management
  • Support strategic D&I initiatives, including being responsible for the submission of WGEA 
  • Support local all Affiliate learning and development activities, from supporting the facilitator and setting up to putting together a local annual training calendar 
  • Coordinate and support employer branding projects and initiatives in collaboration with the Senior Associate, Corporate Communications and Talent Acquisition 
  • Be the local lead for HR projects that may relate to the employee life cycle as required 
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve processes or practices that result in tangible business improvements; partner with process owners where appropriate to drive enhancements and ensure a field-ready perspective is embedded within program rollouts.
4. ANZ Functional Learning Liaison (non-GxP) 
  • Manage and oversee affiliate non-GxP training program for Australia and New Zealand.  Produce reports on training compliance for Snr Management on a regular basis.   
  • Complete learning requests and collaborate with the Central Learning Services team for the creation of items, curricula and assignment profiles in Biogen University 
  • Allocate non-GxP Biogen University training courses to employees based on appropriate employee attributes
  • Be the local learning and Biogen University expert and be the connection with Central Learning Services to ensure a seamless user experience 

Qualifications

To demonstrate success in the role of HR Advisor / Manager you will have a minimum of 2-5 years HR generalist expertise, ideally within large and complex business environments, along with a demonstrated understanding and experience of Australia and New Zealand practices and employment laws. You will be qualified with a Bachelor or Master Degree in Human Resources, Psychology or equivalent, have experience working in a regulated industry as well as a matrixed multi-cultural environment and have the following attributes:
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal at all levels  
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in Microsoft Office applications  
  • The ability to interact will all levels of employees as well as management, able to build excellent trusting interpersonal relationships 
  • Strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to your work 
  • The ability to work independently 
  • Good business acumen and delivery
