Global Product Stewardship Manager - Lyon

It's not often that you get to join a global player in the specialties industry where you can enjoy the financial security and resources of a large company while experiencing the variety and working environment of a small business. If you have solid experience within REACh, CLP/GHS and REACh-like regulations, this could be the opportunity for you.

This position will be reporting in to the Head of Product Stewardship for the business unit while working closely with a global Product Safety and Regulatory affairs group, where some exciting things are going on. Over the last 3 years, they have totally decided to restructure the way that things are done, and for the better. They are currently in the process of implementing new systems and processes to help make product stewardship functions more effective with systems that will be harmonised amongst the different business units. As part of that team, you will be in contact with the project leader to provide insights in how to optimise these functions within the group allowing you to help shape the future of the business.

The hiring manager for the role started life in the company as an R&D associate, initially coming from a company producing one type of product and where the work was very repetitive. The reason he joined the company, was because he wanted to be able to work on multiple projects and continually strive for innovation. Several years on, the company have continually recognised him for his work which this has allowed him to take on new responsibilities and move into new functions within the business. As with any growing business, these doors will be open to you, as well giving you the ability to take your career forwards in a positive direction.

The company produce a large portfolio of mixtures derived from minerals and specialty chemicals which have different industrial applications. These are supplied into various clients around the world so they are looking for an adaptable person who will be able to quickly understand and react to different regulatory requirements. However, you'll also be doing this a little closer to home, including anticipating Annex VIII to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and what steps will be taken in preparation. From day one you will be taking on, and managing, your own projects offering a lot of responsibility and trust from the business.

Key Requirements:

  • Around 7 to 10 years working in a Gloabl Regulatory/Product Stewardship function
  • Extensive experience within REACh Registrations and Compliance
  • Additional expertise within Hazard Communications (CLP/GHS)
  • Knowledge in REACh-like regulations (Korea, China, Turkey, TASCA etcs)
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders
  • Regulatory Watch
  • Masters level education within a scientific discipline
  • A professional level of French and English

Additional Information:

  • Reporting Line: Product Stewardship Manager. Dotted line reporting to Director of Corporate Product Stewardship
  • Direct Reports: None - Project Management
  • Location: Lyon Area, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes - Homeworking: 1 day per week
  • Salary : Negotiable
