This position is for Calyx, formerly Parexel Informatics. With 250 new drug approvals in its history, Calyx has supported over 25,000 trials involving more than fourteen million patients. Job Purpose:
As the Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible and manage the end to end supply chain across all business units and functions. You will identify issues and risks, facilitate mitigation and resolution of issues and interact with the wider business. In addition will also work effectively in cross-functional sourcing and project teams overseeing major purchases and coordinate associated work with the Procurement team.
You will execute all relevant activities of the function including:
  • vendor identification, qualification and contracting
  • asset lifecycle management
  • license management
  • vendor contract management
  • planning, monitoring & review of software currency
  • license, contract and entitlement compliance
  • end-of-life and optional product replacement
  • global category management
  • global procurement operations
  • risk management

  • Key Accountabilities:

    Asset Management - Applies tools, techniques and processes to create and maintain an accurate asset register. Produces reports and analysis to support asset management activities and aid decision making.
    Sourcing - Prepares pre-qualification questionnaires and tender invitations in response to business cases. Recognises the difference between open source and proprietary systems options. Produces detailed evaluation criteria for more complex tenders and assists in evaluation of tenders.
    Supplier management - Collects supplier performance data and investigates problems. Monitors and reports on supplier performance, customer satisfaction, and market intelligence. Validates that suppliers' performance is in accordance with contract terms.
    Contract management - Sources and collects contract performance data and monitors performance against KPIs. Monitors compliance with Terms and Conditions and take appropriate steps to address non-compliance. Pro-actively manages risk and reward mechanisms in the contract. Monitors progress against business objectives specified in the business case. Identifies where change is required, and plans for variations. In consultation with stakeholders, ensures that change management protocols are implemented.
    Relationship Management - Identifies the communication and relationship needs of stakeholder groups. Translates stakeholder engagement strategies into specific activities and deliverables. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact. Facilitates business decision-making processes. Captures and disseminates technical and business information.
    Business Risk Management - Carries out risk assessment within a defined functional or technical area of business. Uses consistent processes for identifying potential risk events, quantifying and documenting the probability of occurrence and the impact on the business. Refers to domain experts for guidance on specialised areas of risk, such as architecture and environment. Co-ordinates the development of countermeasures and contingency plans.

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Strong experience working within a Procurement environment.
  • Exposure to global operations and/or or life sciences is an advantage
  • Oracle experience in a global environment is beneficial.
  • Prior project management experience is an advantage.


  • Education:
  • Educated to degree level (life science, technology, or other related discipline preferred), other relevant qualification/experience.
  • C.P.M. designation (or equivalent) preferred.

    Our modern state of the art office is based in Nottingham city centre, we have a great working environment and the feel of an innovative technology company. Currently we are working from home but when the office reopens this role will be office based.
