Role Summary

The Medical Excellence & Innovation Manager supports the Medical department on strategic and tactical level driven by business acumen and ecosystem knowledge. This function will support the transition of Medical Affairs into a pro-active, co-creating and strategic partner for both our organization and external stakeholders.

In this role you will develop, maintain and deploy training and capability building programs for all positions within the medical department, including the onboarding of new colleagues. You will collaborate with Human Resources, BU's, market access and the Swiss IBEX organization to secure an aligned company strategy for onboarding, training and development programs, and retention.

Strategy, Operations, Training & development Initiatives
This position will combine organizational, operational, business excellence, relationship and understanding of medical strategic priorities with the goal of supporting the department to act at a higher level with more impact. Collaborating with medical excellence peers and country medical teams to understand internal and external environment and dynamics at the regional and local level, and related competency gaps. You will also be accountable for the establishment and maintenance of training and capability building programs supporting the creation and execution of solutions and propositions across the portfolio with internal and external partners.

Role and responsibilities

  • Support the transition to Medical 2.0,
  • Monitor existing and upcoming competency gaps and translate them in training and continuous, personal development plans, to meet key performance objectives
  • Contribute and support the medical leadership team
  • Coordinate development of the Medical Strategic and Operating plans
  • Align regionally and globally
  • Be responsible for the Medical Excellence & Innovation Budget.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Life-sciences degree or Medical Doctor or pharmaceutical/biomedical degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 6 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a minimum of 4 years experience in a relevant area (e.g. Medical Affairs, Sales & Marketing Management, Market Access, Public Affairs, Learning & Development and/or a healthcare analytics/services function within the pharmaceutical industry).
  • At least 4-6 years experience in middle or senior management
  • Experience in conducting trainings / coaching
