Operations Manager - Communications Agency

Are you an operations manager, or perhaps a project/account manager, looking for your next step and an opportunity to expand your knowledge and develop your skills in a challenging and exciting new environment?  We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations of our Medical and Patient Communications Team.

The Operations Manager role includes implementation of the right processes and practices across the team. Specific duties will involve resource planning, materials trafficking, and the development of ways to increase quality of our operations and implement best practices. The Operations Manager will help us remain compliant, efficient and profitable in the delivery of all projects for our clients.


  • Developing and implementing the right systems, processes and practices across the team to ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way
  • Improving operational management systems, processes and best practices
  • Helping team’s processes remain compliant
  • Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics
  • Collating financial data and preparing reports for review/analysis
  • Preparing data to be used for resource planning
  • Tracking use of freelance resource
  • Trafficking of materials between project management, editorial and studio


  • Experience of working as an operations manager or in similar role
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
  • Experience of forecasting (resource)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive, flexible and collaborative approach, a can do attitude, and ability to function effectively and efficiently in a fast moving environment
  • Experience of work in a medical communications agency (ideal, but not essential)

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an operations management position
  • Ability to develop clear and accurate financial reports
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), including strong Excel skills
  • Aptitude to learn new applications
  • Strong IT skills, including database development
