We have an opportunity for a Process Leader (First Line Manager) for one of our sterile manufacturing plants on our evolving Macclesfield campus.
At 100 acres Macclesfield is AstraZeneca's largest UK campus with a variety of work environments including laboratories, factories and offices. We are currently undergoing an ambitious campus redevelopment driven by

You will carry responsibility for the day-to-day performance of defined processes in terms of adherence to plan, operational standards, cost, asset, cGMP and safety.
As a capable leader and coach you will develop a team of 8 sterile manufacturing operators to deliver safe and high quality production using good manufacturing practice and lean principles
A strong, confident leader you'll be responsible for leading people, equipment and material resources and processes. This in turn will ensure a high-quality product in accordance with the departmental operating strategy.
You will ensure that you maintain effective employee relations and strict compliance to cGMP, safety, health and environment, as well as AstraZeneca standards.
You will exercise collective leadership accountability for the supply chain in which you operate.
We'll expect you to hold accountability for run to target, maintaining supply in line with customer demand.
Resilient and used to working in a dynamic, changing environment, you'll be comfortable networking with varying partners both internal and external to AstraZeneca. This will include being creative and researching standard methodology from other regulated industries where required.Experience Required:
A degree in a science, engineering, manufacturing or a supply chain related subject, or a considerable amount of proven experience is required.
Previous line management experience within manufacturing.
Understanding and application of Lean or Manufacturing Excellence principles. We'll need you to have the ability to deploy process improvements, in a highly regulated environment.
We're looking for experience of working within a unionised environment.
Knowledge of sterile manufacturing principles and their application.
Tenacious, you'll embrace conceptual and tactical thinking.
Please note this is a shift based position and you must be flexible to work earlies, lates and weekends on rotation.
Shift pattern is a 6am-1.40pm early, and 1pm - 8.40pm lates alternating, with 7 days on, 2 days off, 7 days on, 5 days off repeating pattern.
