Job Purpose:
To manage Parexel's information security risks. Monitoring, assessing and evaluating potential threats. Using defined risk-based measures and mechanisms to guard against unauthorized access to electronically stored or transmitted data. Provide written and verbal updates as required. To protect Parexel against reasonably anticipated threats. Ensure that Parexel PI leadership team have access to information and reporting so that they can make informed decisions. Regularly monitor and review procedures in relation to risk.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Information assurance
  • Interprets information assurance and security policies and applies these in order to manage risks. Provides advice and guidance to ensure adoption of and adherence to information assurance architectures, strategies, policies, standards and guidelines. Uses testing to support information assurance. Contributes to the development of policies, standards and guidelines
  • Information Security
  • Communicates information security risks and issues to business managers and others. Performs basic risk assessments for small information systems. Contributes to vulnerability assessments. Applies and maintains specific security controls as required by organisational policy and local risk assessments. Takes action to respond to security breaches in line with security policy and records the incidents and action taken.
  • Performs security risk, vulnerability assessments, and business impact analysis for medium complexity information systems. Investigates suspected attacks and manages security incidents. Uses forensics where appropriate.
  • IT Governance
  • Reviews information systems for compliance with legislation and specifies any required changes. Responsible for ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures and overall information management strategy.
  • Methods and Tools
  • Provides expertise and support on use of methods and tools.

  • Knowledge and Experience:
  • Knowledge and experience of application security frameworks; for example OWASP (Open WEB Application Security Project)
  • Management, coordination and experience of: planning penetration and security tests.
  • Knowledge and demonstrable understanding of the enterprise information security architecture discipline, processes, concepts, and best practices
  • Experience of working globally in a complex environment; cloud experience specifically Azure
  • Knowledge and understanding in relation to 'Client focused approach'
  • Risk management experience and a working knowledge, i.e. ability to assess security risks at all levels across the business
  • Experience of ongoing security monitoring, tools and techniques
  • Experience of staying up to date with security threats, vulnerabilities and security laws and regulations.
  • Ability to recommend, assess and evaluate new security technologies
  • Security Incident Management experience
  • Experience of info/cyber security continued professional development and awareness

  • Education:
  • Degree or equivalent experience in related discipline
