Job Title: Content Marketing Specialist

Reports to: Global Content Manager

Job purpose:

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Content Marketing Specialist who will drive planning, production and analysis of Abcam's content marketing activities.

Working alongside scientific writers, channel owners, analysts and designers, you will be responsible for understanding what content engages and drives action from our audiences, using this insight to develop and shape creative content marketing plans, communicating and aligning content marketing activities across the business, and supporting content production.

Key responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain an integrated content marketing editorial calendar
  • Develop content marketing plans for content programs and campaigns, performing research and competitive analysis to guide plans
  • Manage content marketing projects, pulling in stakeholders from across the business
  • Analyse data to report on content performance and generate insight on content types and topics that engage and drive action from target audiences
  • Create promotional plans for content to ensure that content is effectively promoted through appropriate channels
  • Support with content production - including content repurposing and optimisation, SEO optimisation, proofreading and website content maintenance

Summary of Job Requirements:

Education, Training & Qualifications
  • Life science degree
  • Marketing qualification, such as CIM

Experience - work, research, voluntary, other:

Essential -
  • Significant experience in a content marketing role that included content planning and strategy, and analysis of performance.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a large cross-functional team
  • Experience managing projects independently
  • Working with commonly used systems, such as Google Analytics, SEMrush (or similar) and content management systems

Desirable -
  • Content marketing experience within the life science industry

Specific skills & abilities:

Essential -
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to generate and analyse data and effectively apply the insights you gain, both to your own work and to guide others
  • Good understanding of promotional channels and SEO optimisation
  • Excellent written communication with exceptional attention to detail
