As the main point of contact for the client, the Project Manager will ensure good working relationships with the client and ensure that project deliverables meet or exceed Zigzag/client expectations, and are delivered on time and within budget.

Client Activities

  • Conduct a project kick-off meeting with the client and Zigzag staff as appropriate 
  • Discuss and agree QA programme processes and client expectations 
  • Develop and implement a project plan (addressing all aspects of the project lifecycle) to document that Zigzag has a full understanding of all client requirements and expectations prior to commencement of the QA programme 
  • Develop, implement and maintain project-specific training materials and client pack containing all relevant documentation and tools required by the project team 
  • Ensure that all team members receive relevant, comprehensive, documented training on client processes and expectations prior to commencing project work and that updated, documented training is provided as required  
  • Work with the Global Resourcing Manager to identify suitable resource 
  • Ensure continual, detailed oversight of the audit programme and proactively identify and resolve any potential risks in advance of them impacting the project 
  • Work with Associate Director of Project Management to identify areas of added value to the audit programme and implement as appropriate 
  • Work with relevant Zigzag and client staff to ensure that any changes to the project requirements are updated and implemented 
  • Ensure that the project adheres to the contractual (including budgetary) requirements. Highlight significant contract deviations, potential revisions required to the contract or information impacting invoicing are highlighted to the Associate Director of Project Management, Contracts Manager and Finance as appropriate 
  • Produce project status reports (content and frequency to be agreed with the client)  
  • Maintain oversight of the status of deliverables against Zigzag standards and provide updates to the relevant manager(s) in an agreed format 
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all auditors on the audit programme 
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with the client with proactive communication 
  • Ensure that there are no formal client complaints as the result of the management of the audit programme 
  • Ensure that projects are closed and all relevant documentation is archived 
  • Ensure that lessons learned exercises are conducted at the end of the project and improvements are implemented where necessary 

Zigzag Activities

  • Provide feedback and/or recommendations on tools, processes etc. used in the management of projects 
  • When required work with Proposals and Contracts groups to provide input on audit programme management requirements and responsibilities 

General

  • Remain conversant with Zigzag’s SOPs and file documentation in accordance with Zigzag’s filing requirements 
  • Maintain a high level of organisation and effective prioritisation of workload 
  • Ensure the security of confidential material at all times, and that Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) are in place before the release of any confidential information to third parties 
  • Perform administrative tasks effectively and in a timely fashion 
  • Account for the time in accordance with Zigzag’s requirements 

Skills Required:

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills, and the ability to communicate confidently at all levels

  • Practical and enquiring approach to problem-solving 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Fluency in English (reading, written, spoken) 

Education or Equivalent Experience: 

  • Life science degree or equivalent education or experience 
  • QA audit experience of at least 3-5 years and/or demonstrable project management skills 
  • Previous project management experience preferable but not essential 
  • Responsiveness to customer needs and focus on customer satisfaction  Respond to all client communication in a timely and professional manner
