Job Details

Position Information:

I’m currently working with a fast growing, innovative cell therapy company that develop of best, in class, off the-shelf/alloheneic natural (NK) cell therapies. They are looking for an exceptional scientist to joing their expanding R&D team.

 

Key Responsibilites:

  • Undertake R&D and development to meet company objectives
  • Design and development of NK specific CAR constructs
  • Design and testing of CAR-NKs using proprietary scFvs
  • Optimization of gene editing using CRISPR/Cas9 in NK cells.
  • Development of viral and non-viral gene modification approaches in NK cells using a variety of techniques, including AAV, transposases.
  • Develop appropriate assays/pre-clinical models to assess activity of genetically modified NK cells
  • Present progress Leadership team and at R&D group meetings

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Bioengineering or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience of the field of cell therapy, NK biology or immunotherapy.
  • Cell engineering experience preferred 

 

Additional Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of immunology and ideally experience in NK cell biology
  • Expertise in T and NK cell-based assays (e.g. ELISA/ELISpot, FACS, cancer cell killing, multiplex cytokine assays etc.)
  • Expertise in molecular biology; viral (including AAV) and non-viral transduction experience, cellular transfection, gene editing with CRISPR/Cas9, cell culture (primary, cell lines, spheroids) as well as prior in vivo work would be advantageous
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills coupled with a strong work ethic.
  • A methodical approach to analyzing and processing data
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • The ability to work independently
  • Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Collaborative team player who has the ability to think and act quickly; identify creative solutions to complex problems, communicate and act quickly to the benefit of the team and meeting objectives.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to articulate quality related risks and potential impact.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
