Our Client
Our Client aims to be a recognised global leader in the translation of basic medical research into human therapeutics. Their mission is to grow the Victorian and Australian biotech sector by translating medical research outputs into high quality pre-clinical candidates for the bio-pharmaceutical industry, venture capital companies and philanthropic funding agencies.
The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a new Senior Consultant to assist their Australian team on a consultancy basis. You will work to contribute to the identification and implementation of key strategic initiatives in all aspects of pre-clinical drug development.
You are highly proficient in the provision of complex technical advice across cell biology, assay development and drug discovery from your many years as a lead in the development of drug therapeutics.
Your Experience
- Biotech / pharmaceutical industry experience within drug discovery teams & research in immunology, molecular biology, cell-based assays, biochemistry and animal models of diseases including cancer, infection and autoimmunity.
- Experience in drug development/discovery, ideally with experience taking a drug/therapeutic in the oncology area from target validation to IND.
- Assay development and screening including experience in:
- Immune cell function.
- Receptor engagement.
- Ligand blocking.
- Receptor internalization.
- Previous responsibility for generating complete development plans
- Clinical biomarker development
- Implementation of study plans defining Go - No Go decision points to enable transition of targets from discovery to therapeutic antibody campaigns.
- Designed plans for early validation of targets.
- Project management experience i.e. implementing a project from conception to completion.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Postgraduate degree (e.g. MD, PharmD, or PhD) with a focus on Cancer Biology.
This role is at the front-line of development of new innovative technologies. Initially estimated consulting time would be 10-15 hours per week dependent on projects. Our client will be privileged to receive your extensive expertise to assist support Australian researchers in the translation of their science.
