My client, an Agri-Food company is currently recruiting for a Production Manager – Powder in Co. Monaghan.

Role Overview

Reporting to the company’s Operations Lead, the Powder Production Manager will be responsible for the operation of the Powder Production facility for company’s current and future range of powder ingredients products.

Main Duties

  • Responsible for planning / production scheduling;
  • Implement / control / review / adjust the production schedule;
  • Determine the human/material resources required & manage same to meet production targets;
  • Make decisions regarding equipment use & ensure adherence to maintenance schedules;
  • Devise and implement & ensure adherence to standard operating procedures for production operations;
  • Participate in internal / external audits (BRC, customer audits etc.) and ensure Quality & Health and Safety standards are adhered to at all times;
  • Set / monitor product quality standards: analyse production and quality controls to detect and correct problems;
  • Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives;
  • Implement and development Lean Manufacturing processes;
  • Ensure a structured approach to Continuous Improvement is in place across the factory;
  • Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement;
  • Estimate production costs/set production budgets / manage production budgets/implement cost control programs;
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Relevant third level degree from the following subject areas: Food science or food related discipline, Business administration, Management or Engineering
  • 5+ years senior production management experience within the food ingredients / nutraceutical industry 
  • Knowledge of raw materials / quality systems and standards
  • Knowledge of Lean management and continuous improvement techniques
  • Knowledge of business, finance and management principles
  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices / health and safety standards and compliance
  • Excellent communication skills & computer literate
