Senior Software Engineer - Bioinformatics

Senior Software Engineer - Manchester - Permanent 

I'm seeking a Senior Software Engineer who can provide bioinformatics expertise in the development and maintenance of algorithms, and who can optimise processes & systems.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, multi-tasker, and demonstrated team-player. You will be a lead developer responsible for the development of new bioinformatics software products and enhancements to existing algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Writing clean, high-quality, maintainable code
• Provide software expertise on development projects
• Support all interfaces and ensure that computational algorithms are optimised.
• Develop novel algorithms and refine existing ones
• Support test and deployment of new products and features
• Produce documentation of bioinformatics

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python, R, Java or C++
• Computer Science or Computational Biology background
• Ability to multi-task, organise, and prioritise work
