At our pre-clinical development site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, we are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Analystto join ourGenetic Toxicologydepartment.
The role involves providing operational supportto theDispensary section within the Genetic and Molecular Toxicology department.
Duties include:
- Assisting in the preparation of materials / test articlesfor use in Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) laboratory areas
- Performance ofsterility and quality control checks
- Maintenance, cleaning and calibration of equipment to GLP
- Recording of daily metrology and balance calibrations
- Removal of laboratory waste including disposal of expired solutions or materials
- Meetinginternal and external customer deadlines
- Receipt oftestarticles
- Preparation of non-sterile and sterile formulations
- Collection, washing and sterilisation ofglassware and equipment
- Correspondence with internal and external clients and suppliers asrequired

Education/Qualifications:
- Good general education A'Levels/HNC level with experience of laboratory work or a scientific degree
- Some background knowledge of Chemistry or Pharmacology would be advantageous
- Ideally up to 12 months practical lab experience - if new graduate internship/placement experience or lab practical experience during degree course preferable
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Familiarity with standard spreadsheet and word-processing software applications
- Communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and understanding of GLP and aseptic techniques would be advantageous
