JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Director of Global Operations Management provides direction and management associated with the Company's global operations, serving as a lead in directing one or more delivery areas within Global Operations Management. Ensures that the Company's Trusted Process® methodology, project management practices, and client delivery is progressing, to enable the business to deliver to quality standards and fulfills all applicable regulations. Ultimately, to optimize the use of disciplined methodologies to drive the corporate vision. The Senior Director of Global Operations Management drives 'positive change' throughout the company through proactive planning and execution of assigned business and operational initiatives that lead to continuous process improvement program(s). Serves as an active change agent to support understanding and adoption of change within the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports or may serve as the Senior Leader responsible for one or more delivery areas within Global Operations Management.
  • Will contribute to and may lead workstreams associated with Strategic Business Initiatives or Global Operations Management Initiatives, evaluates project progress, while producing and distributing status reports to appropriate members of senior and executive management.
  • May serve as a liaison and/or facilitator between the Company's functional/operational departments, clinical business units and commercial service lines to support project, client, and departmental activities, as needed. Contributes operational input to other departments as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates competency with both short and long-term planning for all aspects of the Company's global operations and growth.


  • May provide strategic input for key business development opportunities by leveraging departmental expertise.
  • Interacts with senior management, auditors, vendors, clients, and/or sponsors on operational issues or Company processes.


  • Within the department, may approve courses of action on all management / human resources' matters, including salary administration; employment hires, transfers, terminations; performance appraisals and professional development; job description preparation, and employee counseling. Works with and advises staff on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities and methods.
  • Champions and supports innovation and implementation of technology solutions and the Trusted Process® across all quality management and service delivery systems

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Moderate travel may be required (up to 50%).

Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree, preferably in the life sciences, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Extensive experience in a contract research organization, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology company. Thorough knowledge of the drug development process and associated global regulations.

Demonstrates strong leadership, tactical and strategic thinking skills. Demonstrates understanding of the workflow process, roles and responsibilities of multiple functional areas. Applies critical and strategic thinking to short and long term planning in support of corporate plans and objectives.

Has experience in engaging diverse interests towards a common goal; able to communicate and work with a diverse group of individuals to accomplish desired outcomes.

Experience working and managing staff in a matrix environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and analytical skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and voicemail. Willingness to embrace new technologies.

Membership and/or affiliations with applicable professional organizations related to the Company's business are recommended.

Must have valid, current driver's license and passport, as well as the ability to secure corporate credit card. Ability to comprehensively manage required travel.
