Software Engineer – Manchester

This is a great opportunity to join a leading molecular diagnostics organisation during their continued expansion. We are seeking a Software Engineer to optimise and implement data processes, algorithms and systems. Provide bioinformatics expertise in the design, development and maintenance of algorithms and software for use in molecular diagnostics and screening.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide software expertise and input on development projects.
  • Develop novel algorithms and refine existing ones, converting genomic bioinformatics data into actionable information.
  • Contribute to the development of software applications and tools that implement bioinformatics processing algorithms and pipelines.
  • Produce documentation of bioinformatics
  • Work collaboratively with development scientists
  • Support all interfaces and ensure that computational algorithms are optimised.

Required:

  • Proficiency in Python, R, Java or C++
  • Computer Science or Computational Biology background
