Job Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with appropriate groups to maintain interdepartmental communication and co-operation
  • Assist in the Co-ordination of courier services as required.
  • Efficient and accurate clearance of imports.
  • In the absence of the Senior Logistics Co-ordinator represent the company during client tours or inspections of the Logistics area.
  • Maintain close working relationship with DEFRA in preparation and submission of CITES permits and Export Health Certificate applications for both sites
  • Organise and coordinate all biological substances shipments to or from Huntingdon including radioactive biological substances and occasionally dangerous goods shipments.
  • Ensure close liaison with operational members of courier services.
  • Support end users in determining the correct customs clearance information.
  • Issue Customs clearance instructions to couriers for UK imports.
  • Liaise between the end users on various UK sites and the courier to resolve discrepancies and queries preventing the clearance of an import.
  • Obtain all of the relevant import documents for all imports.
  • Perform all month end checks as described in the Import SOP and report discrepancies to management.
  • Manage the Logistics Email Inbox
  • Ensure appropriate procedures are followed so quality, scientific integrity and regulatory compliance is maintained.
  • Control, storage, inventory and archiving of slides.
  • Comply with UK and international GLP, GMP and GCP regulations.
  • Comply with all safety directives, department safety procedures and ensure safe working practices in accordance with HASAWA and COSHH.
Education/Qualifications:
  • UK secondary education or equivalent, ideally with GCSE's in English and Maths
  • UK driving License
Experience:
  • Logistics/Supply Chainexperience
  • Customer service experience
  • Proven attention to detail
