Our clients, who are  innovative start-ups - one focused on Gene Therapies in the field of Neurology and the other  which is dedicated to the development of human antibody therapeutics are looking for a R&D Project Managers on a 12 month contract to be based in Basel & Zurich respectively.

The Project Manager will be responsible to oversee specialty drug development projects and R&D Project Management initiatives as well as support the successful set-up and funding of the company through general management support.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Project Management related duties including planning, reporting, maintenance and control of R&D projects from pre-clinical to clinical development 
  • Preparation of the information to a suitable level of detail and visual clarity for presentation to senior management and external stakeholders
  • Tactical coordination of project timelines and budgets
  • Manage project information and data to support decision making.  This incorporates identification potential risks and opportunities and developing contingencies and  development scenarios
  • Support and lead the development and delivery of monthly reporting processes to drive strategic assessments and operational planning
  • Budget and resource management as far as it relates to the project plan, including an element financial controlling of the project plan
  • Carry on general management tasks through effective operational support to the CEO

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required;
  • Scientific degree, advanced degree or equivalent experience (Science, MBA, PM), with excellent knowledge of the overall drug development process relevant to pharmaceutical/biotech organizations – Ph.D. could be advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management within the  pharmaceutical / biotech and Life Sciences arena, ideally with early development experience
  • Project Management training certification in ITIL, Prince 2 or PMP would be beneficial
  • Proven management experience, ideally gained in a company that has grown from start-up/early stage to maturity across 1 or more EU markets
  • Knowledge of the French system and language will be advantageous
  • Several years of experience managing operations at senior levels, covering a range of departments in a small to large pharmaceutical company
  • Entepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach
  • Good analytical thinking, a structured working manner, ability to prioritize, plan and manage multiple tasks with a sense of urgency
