The Principal Statistical Programmer is responsible for creating, validating and executing a range of statistical programs and applied extensive domain knowledge in the programming of datasets, tables, figures and listing for quality and accuracy.
Based on leadership and/or technical competency and new skill level, the Principal Statistical Programmer will serve in the following capacity:
- Lead and execute multiple projects in parallel, including ongoing coaching and mentorship of individual team members. In this client facing role, the Principal Statistical Programmer is responsible for leading programming deliverables for complex assignments, for example a portfolio of studies within a client/project. The Principal Statistical Programmer will invest in building long-term relationships with clients in a partnership role. The Principal Statistical Programmer will implement creative solutions to balance competing priorities and focus on exceeding client expectations.
- Apply exceptional technical capabilities and understanding of industry trends to develop broad-use technical solutions for the benefit of study teams across the enterprise. In the role of the technical expert, the Principal Statistical Programmer will take ownership for documentation and technical training of relevant solutions.
The Principal Statistical Programmer provides support to department managers or study leads in the delegation of assigned duties as appropriate, including the interviewing and selection of staff within his/her jurisdiction, as well as input into the appraisal process.
