I have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Director of Business Development for an exciting Pre-clinical CRO who are experiencing exponential growth and are building out their European business development team. This role is with a global integrated drug discovery partner who offer drug discovery support at every stage of the early discovery phase up to the pre-clinical research phase. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful growing business in a role with great visibility, autonomy and career opportunities.

You will require strong business development experience selling drug development and analytical services and will need to demonstrate a strong track record of success selling into the pharmaceutical/biotech market  within France, and or the Benelux region.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Actively networking in the pharma and biotech industries to establish relationships and to identify potential opportunities
  • Establish and manage an effective business development plan to maximize organization growth on entrusted market, by achieving entrusted sales targets
  • Research and identify target markets, build relationships, perform in-depth presentations, strategic analysis, and execution of implemented plans for Selvita’s drug development portfolio
  • Actively participate in proposal preparation, negotiations of contracts in the substantive, legal and financial dimension
  • Cooperation in managing the product and service portfolio of the company
  • Business trips with a focus on obtaining new business contacts and strengthening current relationships with clients

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive business development/sales experience at a pre-clinical CRO
  • Solid understanding of commercialization and the principles of drug development together with with practical knowledge about GMP/GLP work environment
  • Strong ability to build relationships with key business partners new and current customers to impact growth
  • Excellent at business development and sales strategy planning and execution with a strong results-oriented approach
  • Highly developed commercial sensibility; ability to recognize growth opportunities and execute on them
  • Excellent communication, marketing, and presentation skills
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, responsibility and a positive attitude
  • Excellent English and native German or French skills
  • MSc/BSc in Life Sciences (Ph.D. would be an asset)
  • Driving license
