The Role:

Our site in York is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Assistant to support and maintain the laboratories within the BiopharmCMC division.

You will work with laboratory supervisors, laboratory analysts and lead scientists to ensure the smooth running of the lab; providing the following support:

• General housekeeping duties (cleaning, autoclaving, waste)
• Stocking labs including ordering and booking in reagents/ consumables
• Routine use and maintenance of equipment
• Metrology
• Reagent Preparation

As you progress, more advanced laboratory techniques can be acquired e.g ELISA, cell culture basic study prep.

This is a junior entry level role for candidates who are interested in starting a career in science. The position is suited to candidates that are looking to move into the scientific industry after completing A levels or to actively change the industry they are working in; not scientific graduates.

Education/Qualifications:
* Ideally the candidate will possess an A level in Science (or equivalent educational standard).
Experience:
* Computing skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office packages and Microsoft Project).
