Gene and cell therapy is the treatment of disease by the delivery of therapeutic DNA into a patient’s cells, providing long term and potentially curative treatments for a wide range of diseases. With the potential to transform medicine, the sector holds significant promise with the first commercial products now launched and others rapidly approaching the market.

Role Responsibilities

  • Housekeeping – general laboratory cleaning, washing up and waste removal
  • Autoclave and dishwasher operations dealing with waste, glassware & buffers
  • Preparation of basic buffers and reagents to support production operation activities
  • Other activities as needed including some manual handling

Essential Skills, Education & Experience

  • Minimum of GCSE grade C in English and Mathematics or equivalent level
  • Good standard or English both written and spoken
  • Ability to follow instructions i.e. standard operating procedures and/or protocols
  • Proactive and well organised
  • Good standard of computer literacy
  • Experience in working in a similar regulated environment an advantage but not essential
  • An understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and/or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) would be an advantage.
