Oxford Biomedica’s Engineering team are responsible for all aspects of Plant, Mechanical, Electrical and Incoming utilities from point of connection into any of our facilities.  This includes laboratories, manufacturing suites and office space.

We are currently recruiting for a Engineering Maintenance Technician to join the team.  The purpose of this role is to perform all engineering activities for clean room facilities, including all equipment, and utility planned and reactive maintenance, calibration, quality compliance, and contractor management.

Your responsibilities in this role would be:

  • To ensure ongoing and compliant operation of all manufacturing, laboratory and office facilities.
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and to organise the call in of outside contractors for work required.
  • Be on call for break downs in and out of office hours to ensure the smooth running of manufacturing or laboratory operations.
  • Carry out tasks requested from the OXB jobs request data base
  • Induct and manage relevant OXB contractors in ensuring they work to all OXB sites local rules.
  • Ensure the smooth running of planned shut downs and works.
  • Ensure completion of all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Escalate engineering problems which may impact on business productivity to Lead Engineers ensuring they are proactively informed

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Time served apprenticeship in relevant discipline or HNC/HND qualification
  • Experience as an electrical engineer or building maintenance engineer with a mechanical bias is essential
  • Clean room experience gained in a GMP, PetroChem or highly regulated environment is essential
  • Working knowledge of GxP and working in aseptic and laboratory environments is desirable
  • Good knowledge of cGxP relating to engineering functions and activities is desirable
  • Proven knowledge of Engineering building services, Pharma facilities and utilities is ideal.
  • Process driven
  • Work proactively with all other departments within OXB to facilitate engineering activities.
  • Work and communicate well with other team members to ensure an efficient and productive department.
