Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provides guidance and direction on sustainability initiatives to achieve Novartis aspirations linked to our suppliers and scope 3 stakeholders.
• Identify critical risks towards sustainability and recommend, develop and implement solutions to mitigate the risks
• Continuously seek external innovation and trends in the market place that could be deployed in our journey.
• Supports research and development operations, technical manufacturing operations and internal business functions with general knowledge on environmental aspects of supply chain activities.
• Represents Novartis at relevant external forums related to supply chain activities such as Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI).
• Supports with technical expertise on supply chain and responsible procurement and Advises and counsels business professionals and company leaders.
• Leads knowledge sharing on supply chain and processes, and ensures distribution of knowledge with global functions.
• Advises management in approaches to improve environmental performance, risk management/reduction programs.

Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:
• Overall relevant work experience of approximately 10 years, ideally at multi-national organizations, with an in-depth specialized expertise in environmental sustainability with a significant portion being within the pharmaceutical, biomedical research, and healthcare industry.
• Strong understanding of the potential impact of supply chain to all operations. Experience in various supply chain roles globally.
• Experience in identification and management of diverse stakeholders with superior interpersonal/influencing skills.
• High level of personal credibility, customer relationship management, and networking. Ability to communicate effectively across organizations. Ability to balance resource demands from multiple internal customers.
• Experience in leading high impact processes and implementation of improvements across global/regional matrix organizations with cross-functional exposure.
• Track record of operational effectiveness/innovation and of leading diverse teams and remote relationships.
