Clinical Programmer (Home Based)

About the Role:

The SAS programmer is responsible for SAS programming to support the Data Management and statistical reporting for clinical studies, including the production of listing, tables, and figures, for Phase I to IV clinical studies and pharmacovigilance data.

Responsibilities:

• To review and monitor data received from data management to ensure suitability for reporting
• To assist in the design of study databases (in SAS datasets) ensuring adherence to company standards whilst creating databases that are amenable to processing within the Biometrics department either individually or as integrated summaries
• To program ad hoc queries on study databases
• To act as a principal SAS programming contact within 
• To perform a quality control review of work completed by other members of the team
• To interact with report writers in the production of integrated clinical reports and other documents containing information from clinical study databases
• To respond to regulatory questions regarding submissions
• To interact with other disciplines to ensure successful execution of studies
• To maintain the integrated database for safety reporting
• To input the development of departmental processes, including standard working practices, operating procedures and implementation of CDISC

Skills:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Statistics or a subject with a major statistical component
• Thorough knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and guidelines, e.g. ICH Guidelines
• SDTM is a MUST 
• Proficient in the use of the SAS system, especially SAS Base; experience of the use of SAS/Graph and SAS/Stat would be an advantage
• Familiar with data from clinical trials
• Training in statistics
• Able to work in a fast-paced, flexible, team-oriented environment
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail with a view to bringing studies to a quality conclusion
• Flexible, positive, creative thinker, good communicator
• Be able to work without close supervision. Well-developed time management skills are important
