SCIENTIFIC PROJECT MANAGER

An opportunity has arisen to become a Scientific Project Manager at one of the worlds top 10 pharmaceutical companies.

Using genomics data and state-of-the-art methods for genomic analysis, you will investigate underlying genetic causes of disease and integrate genomics across the entire drug discovery and development platform. This work is fundamental to driving the discovery of novel precision medicines.

In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team in a multidisciplinary genomics research environment. You will be responsible for coordinating efforts related to the Centres growing and evolving informatics and data analytics capabilities. You will work alongside bioinformaticians, genome analysts and software scientists to ensure that project activities are aligned to deliver the expected business value within agreed timelines

Responsibilities:

Coordinate the delivery of genome informatics and analytics projects
Contribute to project planning and prioritisation
Ensuring own work, and work of team, is compliant with internal AstraZeneca standards and external regulations

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

Previous experience in running projects within early R&D with a strong IT/Informatics component
Experienced in agile delivery of IT/Informatics projects (SCRUM, KANBAN)
Ability to understand complex problems and break them down into manageable work packages
Ability to prioritize, problem-solve and perform difficult tasks while under pressure
Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work within a team in a quickly evolving environment

Desirable:

Previous experience working with patients data in a regulated, clinical research environment (incl. but not limited to EU privacy regulations, informed consent, Good Clinical Practice)
Experience with JIRA or other project management and requirement tracking system
Agile Project management qualifications
Experience developing and deploying data analytics solutions in pharmaceutical environment
