Here at Syneos Health we are excited to be launching the recruitment for our 2020 Statistical Programming Graduate Program.

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic graduates to start at the Statistical Programmer I level and work from our UK offices in Edinburgh.

No previous industry experience is required and if selected you will become a permanent employee of Syneos Health, benefiting from a robust training program designed to provide you with all the skills and knowledge to become a Statistical Programmer working on clinical trials.

You will be supported through dedicated line management whilst working within an established and highly skilled team of programming professionals, all focused on delivering to the Syneos Health values of Collaboration, Passion and Challenging the status quo.

What are the main responsibilities of a Statistical Programmer? 

  • Use SAS software (BASE, STAT, GRAPH, MACRO) for the production of well formatted datasets, tables, listings, and figures, per programming specifications, Statistical Analysis Plan, and other study related documentation
  • Perform Quality Control to ensure that outputs meet quality standards and project requirements.  Works with Programmer, Biostatistician, and other project team members to resolve discrepancies or any findings
  • Maintain well organized, complete, and up-to-date project documentation, testing, and verification/quality control documents and programs in compliance with Company and sponsor standards
  • Develop specifications for outputs of low to moderate complexity.  Anticipate and address potential programming issues, reflect forethought to establish the basis for efficient programming, accurately define all variables to be accepted by peer review and sponsor/requestor with little rework
  • Complete project programming activities within a timeframe allotted by Lead Statistical Programmer and/or management

 

What are the entry requirements? 

  • Degree or Masters level qualification in a relevant subject e.g.  Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or Life Science (Summer 2019 graduates can be considered)
  • Fluency in English, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Display an interest in programming and a passion for working within clinical trials
  • Demonstrate effective organisational skills and the ability to be customer-focused
  • Ability to start in Autumn 2020
