I am working in collaboration with a science driven, fast paced, global CRO/CDMO to bring on aboard a Business Development Director onto their European team. The main purpose of this position is to establish, grow and manage sales for the company’s services in Europe. You will be responsible for acquiring and developing relationships and new opportunities for selling drug discovery and development services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and execute business development initiatives that are consistent with the company’s overall strategy
  • Revenue generation and development and management of strategic partnerships
  • Confidently negotiate and close deals for fee-for-service business
  • Cultivate relationships, manage accounts and secure opportunities for selling the company’s drug discovery stand-alone and integrated services as well as preformulation/formulation development
  • Maintain accurate and accessible tailored presentations / proposals / agreements/ updates to meet client needs
  • Represent the company at industry events and tradeshows with professional manner and polished appearance to gain new business leads and contacts
  • Assist in the creation of the company’s marketing literature and advertisements
  • Travel up to 50%

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Organic Chemistry
  • Ability to travel to work in Europe, and stationed in either Switzerland (Basel preferred), Germany, or the UK.
  • At least 3 years proven experience selling services, developing pipeline of opportunities, and closing sales
  • Complete understanding of the discovery process/needs to identify and recommend solutions for client outsource chemistry needs
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry including quality control testing, development and manufacturing of drug products, FDA regulations, and proposal / contract generation
  • Experience selling and/or representing CRO services to Preclinical Pharmaceutical and Biotech clients
  • Small (required) and large molecule (preferred) experience
  • Bench Chemistry experience
