We are looking for a driven and experienced Director of Content Marketing to lead the content strategy across Cytel, delivering impactful, on-brand messaging to a wide variety of audiences across multiple channels and platforms.

You will be responsible for planning, developing, measuring, and managing all content, leveraging internal and external resources in partnership with business owners, key industry opinion leaders, strategic marketers, and marketing analytics. You will serve as “editor in chief” to ensure that our content is engaging, driving marketing results and propelling our customers through each stage of the sales funnel.   

Your contributions include:

  • Create and oversee ongoing compelling content for high-traffic, lead-generating inbound channels (social, email, blog, landing pages, etc.)
  • In collaboration with the creative team, support sales enablement activities that help bring to life relevant, customer-facing materials for our sales team
  • Create and oversee thought leadership content (ebooks, whitepapers, case studies, etc.), helping drive brand awareness and perception shifts
  • Work closely with senior leadership, marketing colleagues, and other departments to create effective and efficient content and communication strategies that articulate our core benefits and points of differentiation
  • Work with business owners and marketing analytics to identify KPIs/success metrics, assess effectiveness, shape “what good looks like,” and prioritize the most productive content  
  • Propose and execute new ways of creating and distributing content that expand our company’s reach and purpose
  • Own and maintain our verbal identity – be the “voice of Cytel” – ensuring all written content is on brand
  • Influence internal stakeholders to help Cytel develop a storytelling, benefits-driven culture
  • Develop strategies and processes to scale content output and best serve the needs of business partners  
  • Manage content creation agencies and freelancers
  • Manage media relations, including relationships with journalists and bloggers for stories, press releases, and interviews

 

What we need from you:

  • BA/BS
  • 10+ years of experience in content strategy, editorial, writing, and copy-editing responsibilities
  • Experience with B2B marketing in life sciences a plus
  • Industry and domain expertise in life sciences
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Experience producing content for digital channels across multiple disciplines (text, design, video, etc.) and media (blogs, guides, whitepapers, research, infographics, etc.)
  • Ability and openness to work cooperatively in a team environment and communicate throughout the organization within a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Curiosity and a drive for constant learning along with abilities as a natural storyteller, able to transform complex concepts into compelling, plain-English, and on-brand stories that pique audiences’ interest, provide value, and win trust
