Senior Optical Design Engineer

INTRODUCTION

i-Pharm Consulting are partnered with a mid-sized Medical Device/Pharmaceutical organisation who are looking to strengthen their R+D team with a driven Optical Design Engineer who is looking to pioneer the next generation of devices that are changing the lives of ophthalmic patients across the world.

LOCATION

- West Sussex, UK


RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work as part of the R+D manufacturing function for the development of new innovative ophthalmic devices
- Supporting continuous improvement and identifying opportunities to reduce variations for manufacturing processes
- Liaising with external conractors and vendors (e.g. Universities) to introduce new processes and products
- Project management of cross-functional teams for new product introductions to market
- Ensuring all manufacturing aspects are fully compliant with FDA CFR 820 part 21
- Active collaboration with management for continual quality performance improvement for the overall function

REQUIREMENTS

- Educated to degree level in related area
- 2+ years' experience working with Zemax design software
- Experience of designing opthalmic systems / devices
- ISO:13485 knowledge/experience is advantageous
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
