Your company

My client, an award-winning independent healthcare communications agency based in London, is looking for an Account Director to join their healthcare agency that specialises in Medical Education and PR. As an independent agency, my client is proud of their culture. They are keen to bring together like-minded individuals on-board, who can engage people and change behaviours within the healthcare communications industry.
 

Your new role

As the Account Director, you will run the day-to-day strategy of accounts in a smooth operation and you will ensure that each programme is implemented effectively, within budget and in a professional manner. You will drive the running of each programme, ensuring that the allocation of tasks between team members is sufficient. You will also hold responsibility for providing updates to the Associate Director and the Director.

You should be comfortable in growing the existing accounts within the business, with a strong background in a similar role. You will occasionally attend meetings with the Management Team to contribute to specific matters within the business.

 

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Successfully lead the day-to-day strategy of client events and programmes. Keeping in regular contact with the client and the team to incorporate feedback.
  • Manage and take a proactive step to update client budgets for campaigns and events.
  • Maintain in the involvement of team initiatives.
  • Provide accurate forecasts on the account to enable future planning and help to ensure that campaigns are delivered on target.
  • Provide sound client counsel and strategic input.
  • Proactively contribute to the development and updating of case studies and other credentials materials.
  • Help drive new business development, exploring new opportunities with former-clients and contacts as much as possible.
  • Oversee or deliver reconciliation budget reports.
  • Play an active role in new business pitches, leading on specific elements.
  • Support the team in delivering the brief by driving the quality and direction of the team, highlighting any potential issues to the Directors.
  • Create or oversee programme budgets, including budget summaries, proposal sheets and budget breakdowns.
  • Oversee or lead year-end and campaign reconciliations and work closely with the accounts team.
  • Submit all timesheets in a punctual and accurate manner.

You should have a strong background in Account handling; you could be a Senior Account Manager who may be looking for the next step up in your career. You should have a minimum of 3 years of experience within an account handling role.
