Job Description

The Opportunity:

We have an opportunity available for a Manager, Integrated Business Operations to join our team, based at Parkville. In this newly created position, you will be a central member of a growing team responsible for leading and overseeing R&D business operations. You will closely collaborate with R&D leaders to:
  • Coordinate global business planning efforts
  • Improve R&D's ability to manage and respond to cross R&D business challenges and information requests
  • Support R&D budgeting and headcount management
  • Help establish business standards and reporting mechanisms
  • Implement best practice business solutions
  • Efficiently and expertly manage the business aspects of R&D


Reporting into the Senior Director, Integrated Business Operations, your main responsibilities include:
  • Working closely with R&D Leaders, CSL Corporate Functions and the R&D Business Operations Network (BON) to proactively manage the business side of R&D in a coordinated and integrated manner.
  • Act as a point of contact for R&D information requests, particularly related to all tax audit, reporting and information requests
  • Organize, structure, and integrate business information across R&D to enable R&D Leadership to make sound, consistent business decisions
  • Collaborate with R&D management in identifying and applying key performance metrics required to effectively manage highest priority business needs and objectives
  • Demonstrate an authentic leadership presence and depth of business & R&D acumen that fosters impactful, sustained working relationships with R&D leaders, Business Operations Network (BON) members and enabling functions personnel.


To be successful, you will have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • An advanced degree (MSc, PhD) in Science, Master of Business Administration (MBA), PMP certification, or equivalent is a plus
  • 5-7 years' experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry or experience in finance / business analysis.
  • Working knowledge in drug research, development, and manufacturing processes of pharmaceuticals (CMC, non-clinical, clinical, and regulatory).
  • Proficiency in the use of MS EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint, Project as well as Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting tools such as CA Clarity, Qlik Sense, or similar. Experience designing, implementing, and supporting such systems strongly preferred.
