CSL (top 5 listed ASX organisation and a leading global biotechnology company) is continuing to invest and grow. Working from our largest Australian facilities at Broadmeadows we have a position available for an Associate Director, Environment Health and Safety. You will engage with the site from a safety lens and also responsibility maintain and continuously improve our EHS systems framework to meet our Comcare/SRCC self insurance and internal reporting requirements.

Reporting to the EHS Site Director - Broadmeadows, you will implement the compliance framework for Australia and will be a delegate to the site EHS Director. You will have a significant component business partnering with key stakeholders across diverse stakeholder groups.

Your main responsibilities include:
  • Facilitates the management of significant EHS risks through the sites and business unit risk management processes and risk registers
  • Guide the continued development of our regulatory framework to meet CSL’s EHS requirements, Comcare/SRCC self insurance and internal reporting requirements. Align to ISO standards 45001 and 14001
  • Ensure that risks associated with CSL and CSL’s activities are identified, assessed, documented and, where required, actions are taken
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ease of doing business, process, policy and procedure simplification. Facilitate co-operation between management and employees in developing and carrying out measures designed to identify and manage closure of EHS issues through relevant committees and teams
  • Facilitate incident investigations and be a first contact for EHS matters, ensuring EHS matters are diligently managed and administered. Participate in incident investigation analysis and ensure corrective actions are enacted and closed
  • Lead deployment of allocated EHS critical programs from strategy and act as EHS representative for engineering projects and initiatives for location


Your Skills and Experience:
  • Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline from a recognised tertiary educational institution, preferably within the disciplines of OHS, engineering or science related studies
  • Significant professional experience supporting Manufacturing or related industry EHS function
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001 is essential, experience with self insurance schemes is desirable
  • Experience reporting to government and other regulatory authorities including regulatory audits and leading internal audits
  • Demonstrated risk management and compliance experience in the safety and environment functions
