The Opportunity
A new and exciting new opportunity now exists to join their Melbourne based, Australian team. Working closely with the CEO and Partners locally and internationally, you will assist in managing their current portfolio and to identify and manage future investments. Highly experienced in the healthcare sector, you will bring expertise and gravitas to ensure success.

• Work with and support portfolio companies, including attending board meetings.
• Source and coordinate incubation support services for portfolio companies with the current team.
• Develop a complete understanding of emerging companies in healthcare evaluating their market opportunity, competition, product, sales and growth, operations, financial statements and projections, management strength, equity needs, and capital structure.
• Identify new entrepreneurs and maintain relationships with current entrepreneurs and other VC funds.
• Meet regularly with innovation partners and attend conferences and industry events to maintain a pulse on market developments.
• Develop market landscapes and points-of-view on emerging trends.
• Represent our client at external events and financial sector forums.
• Contribute to building the Health and Biosciences community and facilitate knowledge sharing between investees and the extensive networks locally and internationally.
• Assist to manage a network of Venture Partners and independent Advisory Board Members.
• Experience with entrepreneurship support and/or tech community building.

About You

• A degree in science or science/business plus a minimum of five years' experience in an entrepreneurial, research, STEM or similar, including biotech, medtech, life sciences, healthcare, and digital health.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience at a venture capital firm, corporate venture capital group, Business Development role within an industry partnership office or internally in a healthcare/biotech company.
• A strong understanding of the mid - later stage venture capital space.
• Private company and listed organisations company/portfolio management expertise ideal. e.g. ASX, LSEG etc
• Work experience in ANZ Medtech/Biotech/Digital Health sector preferred. International experience ideal.
• Demonstrated skill in originating, analysing, and recommending investments, documenting the rationale for making investments and monitoring them once selected.
• Deep understanding of healthcare / life sciences business models and intellectual property considerations.
• A successful track record of investing and adding value to portfolio companies preferable.
• You may have experience of investment/financial analysis within private and public markets, with experience from a fund manager or VC firm.
