The Opportunity

Reporting to the Global Global Head, Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability you will lead the EHS team with oversight on all our APAC locations, including China, Japan and Australia. You will ensure that the EHS processes are compliant with all local, state and federal laws and regulations. As a member of the EHS leadership team, you will develop strategic goals targeting EHS processes. Field support, auditing and continuous improvement will also be important responsibilities.

The Role

  • Provide leadership to site-based EHS teams to implement the strategies and programmes.
  • As part of EHS leadership, guide and set the right tone for the safety culture
  • Set goals and provides clear direction for execution.
  • Ensure all members of the regional EHS team are working to prevent health and safety incidents, minimising environmental impacts, and maintaining compliance.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and communications
  • Ensure the EHS strategy is cascaded at each site; tracks progress and efforts to implement the strategy.
  • Builds and grows leadership team that can engage employees' commitment to achieve our goals, while complying with company policies.
  • Ensure capabilities for delivering future capacities;
  • Promote high employee engagement and a positive work environment.
  • Manage organizational design and staffing decisions. Recruit, retains, trains and develops the team.


Your skills and experience
  • Requires BS in Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 12 years' relevant experience including regulatory inspections
  • Maintain a Strong Safety Culture
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and its implementation
  • Knowledge of HAZMAT including lead, asbestos, PCBs or other hazardous materials use, handling and storage.
  • Hazardous Energy Control (Lock Out / Tag Out)
  • Fall prevention and protection and Ergonomics
  • Hot work and Respiratory protection
  • Rigging and critical lift planning
  • Electrical safety and arc flash protection (NFPA 70E)
  • Large pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing experience highly desirable
